Bio:
Risperidrone are a Cardiff-based heavy rock project established in mid-2020, blending groove metal, stoner rock, and doom-laden heaviness into a powerful and immersive sonic experience. Formed during the uncertainty of the global pandemic, the project emerged from a desire to create something meaningful amidst isolation, transforming adversity into a vehicle for creativity and expression.

The band was founded by guitarist Wigg Grant and bassist Rob Edwards, who used the enforced downtime of lockdown to begin constructing a sound rooted in colossal riffs, driving grooves, and atmospheric weight.

To complete the line-up, the pair reunited with original drummer Tom Kirkby and recruited vocalist Giac Fiderio, forming a formidable four-piece capable of balancing crushing heaviness with dynamic melody and emotional depth.

Drawing influence from groove metal, stoner rock, sludge, and doom, Risperidrone combine thunderous low-end power with introspective songwriting and memorable hooks. Their music explores themes of anxiety, resilience, personal struggle, hope, and redemption, delivered through a sound that is equally capable of punishing intensity and soaring atmosphere.

Their debut EP, Revenant, was written and recorded during the height of the pandemic and served as both a creative outlet and a statement of intent. Named after "one that returns after death or a long absence," the release captured the band's rebirth through music during a period of global uncertainty. Across five tracks, Revenant explored isolation, paranoia, apathy, freedom, and self-reflection, establishing the foundations of the Risperidrone sound through massive riffs, evocative melodies, and cathartic heaviness.

Since then, Risperidrone have continued to expand their creative vision through subsequent releases including Lost to the Sea, Grimace, The Embalmed, Dirge, Wizard Weed, and Anvil, further refining their blend of groove-driven heaviness, atmospheric depth, and emotionally charged songwriting. Each release has built upon the band's commitment to crafting music that is both sonically crushing and deeply personal.

Rooted in friendship, perseverance, and a shared passion for heavy music, Risperidrone continue to forge their own path within the Welsh underground scene. Combining the weight of doom, the groove of stoner metal, and the aggression of modern heavy rock, they deliver music designed to resonate long after the final note fades.
